Stellantis, in response to competition from lower-cost Chinese electric vehicles and reduced demand, is strategically recruiting engineers in Brazil and India.
The company aims to optimize costs by hiring engineers in regions where the average annual salary per employee is approximately €50,000 ($53,000) or less.
This amount stands at roughly a quarter of the salary levels in countries like the United States and France, making it a cost-effective solution for Stellantis.
The decision to hire in Brazil and India is driven by the significant disparity in labor costs compared to other regions, as per sources familiar with Stellantis’s strategy.
